STEP 1: Choose a compatible wallet
This is the compatible wallet list (may not be exhaustive):
Metamask (both Mobile and Desktop)
Arkane
Fortmatic
Portis
Torus
Wallet Connect (for compatible wallets, e.g. Math Wallet)
Trust Wallet is not compatible.
In this guide, weโll only treat Metamask. Metamask works for both Desktop and Mobile. You can download the Metamask app (Android or iOS) or the browser add-on (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge) here: https://metamask.io/download.html
STEP 1B: Add the Polygon network to Metamask

STEP 2: Get some (free) MATIC for gas!
Here are some polygon faucets.
With those, youโll be able to get some free Matic to perform your first transactions.
Those Matic will be enough to do dozens of transactions, if not hundreds, but you should still buy some more Matic as soon as you get funds on the Polygon chain, just in case!

STEP 3: Bridge other funds over to Polygon
Whilst you can still use multichain for the supported assets, there are also other bridges available.
Official Bridges
The only official one is https://wallet.matic.network/bridge/ which only supports funds bridging from and to Ethereum Mainchain <==> Polygon chain.
If you want to use only official bridges, then your best chance is to bridge funds from BSC to ETH via https://www.binance.org/en/bridge and then from ETH to Polygon via the Matic Bridge.
Please mind that youโll need gas for both steps: BNB for the first step (BSC ๏ ETH) and ETH for the second (ETH ๏ POLY).
Unofficial Bridges
Nowadays there are many unofficial bridges available.
The ones weโll list below are battle-proven but always DYOR and mind you that theyโre mostly BETA versions.
